RIM has just released BlackBerry App World 1.1, and while the latest version of its on-device software store has some new features, it's missing a significant one that was rumored earlier this week.
This service now allows users to archive their applications on a removable memory card, making re-installation easier. However, rumors had said this new version would enable users to install apps on memory cards, which isn't the case.
It does offer another rumored feature: users can now un-install an app they have purchased through this service, and later re-install it without having to pay for it again.
BlackBerry App World 1.1 also notifies users when an upgrade for an installed application is available.
There are a number of other small enhancements, as well. In addition, those who have already installed it report that overall performance is better than the previous version.
Availability & Pricing
BlackBerry App World 1.1 is available now, for free. It can be downloaded from RIM's website.
