Verizon's version of the HTC Whitestone could be available as early as next month, if a new report is correct.
The Whitestone will be the successor to the HTC Touch HD, and will have much in common with its predecessor, including a WVGA screen, mobile broadband, and a tablet design.
According to unconfirmed information, when it's released by this carrier it will be under the name Verizon XV6975.
The launch is now expected to happen in September or October. The price for this upcoming model is not yet known.
An Overview of the Verizon XV6975
The HTC code-named Whitestone will have a tablet shape without a hardware keyboard, and a 3.6-inch, WVGA touchscreen. Verizon's version will be a worldphone, able to access both CDMA and GSM networks.
Other features of this upcoming smartphone will include Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, 256 MB of RAM, 528 MHz processor, 5 MPx camera, and GPS. It will have a focus on multimedia, and include a small stand so it can hold itself upright when playing movies (see here).
