DataViz has just released a new version of its software that lets users of Android-based phones work with Microsoft Office files. Documents To Go 2.0 adds support for Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe PDF files, enhancements for Microsoft Word and Excel files, plus a free viewer edition.
The Full Version
The new version of this software suite adds Slideshow To Go, which allows viewing, editing and creating of PowerPoint presentations. It also includes PDF To Go, which lets users view Adobe Acrobat files.
DocsToGo 1.0 offered viewing and editing of Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) and Microsoft Excel (.xls, xlsx) files. Version 2.0 adds new features: find and replace, word count, number formatting, sheet formatting, contextual menus, improved selection modes and scrolling, optimizations for touch, and a ‘Live Folder’ for instant access to recently used documents.
The Free Version
DataViz has also released a free version of Documents To Go for those who just want to view, not edit, Microsoft Office files.
This allows users to view Microsoft Word and Excel files on a memory card or that arrive as e-mail attachments.
Pricing and Availability
Both editions of Documents To Go 2.0 are available now exclusively through the on-device Android Market.
The full version sells for $29.99., and those who previously purchased version 1.0 can upgrade for free.
This software suite will run on the T-Mobile G1, HTC Dream, HTC Magic, T-Mobile myTouch 3G, HTC Hero, Google Ion, Samsung Galaxy, Samsung i7500 and other devices running the Android OS.
