Android is the latest mobile platform to get an application dedicated to the wildly popular social networking site Facebook.
Before now, those with models like the HTC Magic or T-Mobile G1 could turn to the mobile version of Facebook, but the new stand-along app adds additional functionality, like image uploads and looking up phone numbers in the FB address book.
Naturally, it also has all the basic features: read and share status updates, check friends' walls, post comments, etc.
However, it lacks some features, like support for chat.
It's Free
Facebook is free, and is available now in the on-device Android market.
There are also apps that can access this social-networking service for the iPhone, Windows Mobile, and other mobile operating systems.
For more information, visit this application's Facebook page.
