Opera Software has just released Opera Mini 5 beta, an update to its popular Web browser for mobile phones. This version is the first to offer tabbed browsing, among other new features.
This browser has a new design which now features Speed Dial -- a collection of pre-selected Internet favorites that appears when the application opens.
Opera Mini 5 now allows users to have several web pages open simultaneously, each appearing in a different tab.
This browser has acquired a password manager, securely saving all passwords for e-mail, social-networking sites, online banking and more.
It is also the first version to support both touchscreen and keypad-based phones.

Opera Mini 5 beta is available for download at http://m.opera.com/next. The company isn't predicting when the full version of this software will be released.
This browser is widely used by BlackBerry owners, who find it a better alternative that the standard browser. It can also be used on any device that can run Java apps, but phone support may vary while in this app is a beta.
Like most of Opera Software's products, it is free.
