Palm, Inc. has answered the requests of many, and created an online listing of all the third-party webOS software that's on the market. Previously, this information could only be found in the on-device App Catalog.
At this point, it's somewhat rudimentary: just a brief description and a screenshot. Prices aren't given, and neither are customer ratings. And it's not clear that all apps are even listed.
Still, if does give those without a Palm Pre some idea of the apps that are available. Not surprisingly the largest category is games, but there are also a growing selection of entertainment, social networking, and productivity software.
The list is available on Palm's website.
Still in Its Infancy
This online version of the App Catalog shows that the current collection of webOS apps isn't particularly large, especially when compared with its competitors -- all of which have far more third-party software available.
Much of this is Palm's fault. It only recently began allowing some developers to charge for their software, and this feature is still in beta.
