AT&T has released an operating system upgrade for the Samsung Jack, jumping it up to the latest version of Microsoft's smartphone OS.
This device debuted earlier this year with Windows Mobile 6.1, but a version 6.5 debuted last month. The Jack is one of the first models to get an official upgrade.

The Jack was has been on the market since this summer, but this this OS upgrade can help make it seem new again.
Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard brings some tweaks to the user interface, as well as a new version of Internet Explorer Mobile.
It also includes support for a new on-device software store called Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

The Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard upgrade for the Samsung Jack can be downloaded from Samsung's website. It is available free of charge.
Installing it will erase everything stored on the device, so performing a backup of important data is important before installation.
Other Devices?
According to an unconfirmed report, the Samsung Epix is the only other AT&T smartphone that will get an upgrade to version 6.5
Neither this carrier nor HTC has said anything about upgrading the AT&T Fuze to this new version of Microsoft's OS.
