RIM and AT&T have introduced a small update for the system software on the original BlackBerry Bold. This is not the much-anticipated upgrade to BlackBerry OS 5.0, however.
Exactly what the enhancements are included in version 4.6.0.519 is unknown, as this update is bring released with no fanfare. If there are significant changes, AT&T will usually announce them, as it did with the recent introduction of Visual Voicemail support. As it is, this is likely just a "bug fix".
Users of this smartphone are still waiting for Blackberry OS 5.0. The original Storm was recently upgraded to this new version, and the BlackBerry Bold 9700 was released with it.
Upgrading
AT&T is pushing this new OS version out to Bold users. Those who want to upgrade now can manually download v4.6.0.519 from RIM's website.
