Mark/Space Releases Beta of Desktop Sync Software for Android

Mark/Space has introduced a beta version of its desktop synchronization software for most smartphones running Google's operating system. This can sync contacts and transfer music and video between Android 1.x phones and a computer running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OS X.

Google Android OS has been designed to synchronize its data with online sources, but many prefer to sync locally. Mark/Space's new app lets them do so.

The beta version offers syncing address book information over Wi-Fi with Microsoft Outlook, Entourage, and Mac OS X Address Book. It can also transfer music, ringtones, photos, files, and videos with a USB cable.

A version with support for synchronizing calendars, tasks and notes will be released before the end of this year.

The Missing Sync Beta
The beta versions of The Missing Sync for Android is available for download from the Mark/Space website.

This version does not yet support Android 2.0, so it can't be used with the Motorola Droid. However, it can be used with smartphones like the HTC Hero, Motorola CLIQ, T-Mobile myTouch, HTC Droid Eris, and T-Mobile G1.

As mentioned earlier, Mark/Space has promised to introduce more features in upcoming free updates to this application in the next month or so.
