Palm introduced webOS 1.3.1 in the U.S. a week ago, and now this system software update is heading for Palm Pre users in Europe.
One of the main features of the webOS is the ability to pull information in from a number of online services and display this in the built-in applications. With previous versions of this operating system, users could get contacts info and calendar events from Google and Facebook.
The new version of this OS adds support for synchronizing calendar and address book entries from Yahoo. Support for this company's instant messaging service has also been added.
In addition, contacts info can synced from LinkedIn.
Other Enhancements
The European version of webOS 1.3.1 also getting is a new Facebook for Palm app.
Other changes include improvements in e-mail and messaging, such as the ability to forward texts in the Messaging app.
Coming to a Pre Near You
This update is being pushed out to Palm Pre users in Europe over the air now. Those who wish have the option to manually download it.
