AT&T Will Soon Release the HP iPAQ Glisten

HP's latest smartphone, the iPAQ Glisten, is on its way to AT&T. This business-oriented Windows phone will be HP's first with an AM-OLED touchscreen. It will also sport a  thumb-size keyboard, mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, and more.

This device is perhaps better known by its code-name, the HP Obsidian.

An Overview of the HP iPAQ Glisten 
The iPAQ Glisten will have a popular design for smartphones: a tablet shape with a keyboard fixed below a landscape-oriented display. In this case, the display will be a 2.5-inch AM-OLED touchscreen with a QVGA resolution.

It will debut with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro running on a 528 MHz Qualcomm processor with 256 MB of RAM.

As a Windows phone, it will come with a suite of productivity software, including mobile versions of Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Internet Explorer.

This HP model will be a quad-band phone with HSDPA 3G, as well as  Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth.

Other features will include a GPS receiver, 3.2 MPx camera, and a microSD card slot.

“The iPAQ Glisten packs a powerful punch with its multiple input methods, variety of  connectivity options, and a familiar, consistent email experience that allows mobile professionals to connect with the people and information that matter most to them,” said Susan Macke, vice president, Marketing, Handheld Global Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP.

Pricing and Availability
AT&T has promised to release the HP iPAQ Glisten in the coming weeks, though it hasn't specified a launch date.

This smartphone will cost $180 with a two-year service contract and $50 rebate.
