iPhone Can Now Receive Video Calls

The newest version of the fring Wi-Fi-calling app for the iPhone allows users to see the person who is calling them, but not the other way around.

This app lets the iPhone and iPod touch make free voice calls to other fring users, as well as Skype and GTalk buddies.

When the person being called is using a webcam, the iPhone can receive the video. However, because Apple's smartphone lacks a front-facing camera, the video stream is one-way only.

fring for iPhone is available in the App Store (direct link), and it is a free download.

There are also versions of fring for other mobile operating systems, including Android and Symbian.

Even better, the Symbian version also supports video calling on certain Nokia models: X6, N97 mini, N97, 5800, N95, N95 8G and N82. And some of these have front-facing cameras, and allow two-way video conferencing.
