A new picture coming out of Asia gives a first glimpse at what is apparently an upcoming Android based smartphone from Motorola. Details on this are very sketchy, though.
There have been reports recently that this company is working on a version of the Motorola Droid without the sliding keyboard. The newly leaked image could be it, but it doesn't match other images supposedly showing this model that came to light yesterday (see here).
At this point, all that's known about this device is what is shown in the picture, plus a couple of additional details.
It will apparently have a tablet shape with a 3.8-inch touchscreen. Icons below the display match the ones on the Droid, a strong sign that this phone will run Google's Android OS.
It will supposedly be powered by an 800 MHz processor, and and include an 8 megapixel camera.
All other details remain a mystery.
Sholes Tablet? Maybe
Recently, word leaked out of Motorola that it is working on a new version of the Motorola Droid. Virtually all that this leak gave was a code-name: Sholes Tablet. Still that was enough to indicate that this model will be similar but different from the Droid, which was code-named the Sholes.
The image that appeared today could be this device but, as mentioned earlier, doesn't look the same as the some images that leaked out earlier that supposedly depict this model.
If this is the Sholes Tablet, then information that slipped out of Motorola says that it is on its way to T-Mobile USA.
