New Details Emerge on the HTC Passion

The HTC Passion has not yet been officially announced, but information about it is starting to pour out -- not surprising, as it's expected to be released next month.

According to the latest unconfirmed report, this smartphone will be a version of the HTC Bravo that is going to be offered in the U.S. as the HTC Passion.

An Overview of the HTC Passion
This model has attracted quite a bit of attention with some high-end features:  it will reportedly run Google's Android OS 2.0 on a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, and have a 3.7-inch WVGA, AM-OLED touchscreen.

On top of Google's standard user interface will be the HTC Sense UI.

Unlike HTC's Windows Mobile models with large touchscreens, this one will have an optical joystick below the screen.]

Like most of Verizon's smartphones, it will have 3G mobile broadband, Wi-Fi b/g, and Bluetooth.

The Passion's  5.0 MPx camera may be able to record 720p high-definition video.

Other features will include a microSD memory card slot, a GPS receiver, 1,400 mAh battery, and a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Unconfirmed reports have said the HTC Passion being prepped for Verizon Wireless, who is expected to release it in January.

There is no word yet on pricing, but, given its feature set, this won't be a low-cost model.

The HTC Bravo supposedly will debut in Europe in April.
