AT&T Launches LG Windows Phone with 1 GHz Processor, Pico Projector

AT&T has begun offering the LG eXpo, which offers a unique combination of high-end features.

It is one of the first to run Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional on a 1 GHz processor. In addition, it sets itself apart from the pack by using biometric security in the form of a built-in fingerprint scanner.

But what really catches peoples' eyes is the DLP pico projector. This is an external add-on capable of projecting an image up to eight feet.

A Standard Design
Not everything about the LG eXpo is unique: like many high-end models it has a landscape-oriented sliding QWERTY keyboard. Above this is a  with a 3.2-inch, WVGA touchscreen.

This quad-band GSM phone has tri-band 3G mobile broadband (7.2 Mbps HSDPA), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

It also sports a 5 megapixel camera with flash, a microSD/SDHC memory card slot, and a 1,500 mAh battery.

On top of the standard Windows Mobile user interface is LG's S-Class 3D UI.

Overall, this smartphone is 4.5 inches by 2.2 inches by 0.7 inches, without the pico projector attached.

Pricing & Availability
The LG eXpo is now available on AT&T's website, where it sells for $200 with a two-year service agreement and $100 rebate.

The pico projector -- which will weigh in at 1.8 ozs -- will be sold separately for $180. It is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
