Samsung Electronics has announced a 32 GB microSD card, and will apparently be the first company to release a microSD card of this capacity. It will mark a significant increase in storage for most smartphones on the market today.
Currently, the highest density microSD card in production has a 16 GB capacity.
This upcoming card is going to stack eight 32 Gb NAND components and a card controller, something made possible by Samsung’s 30-nm class 32 Gb NAND flash memory technology.
Pricing and Availability
Samsung's 32 GB microSD is now being sampled with OEMs, and mass production is expected to begin next month.
There is no word yet on what this card will cost.
