BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Appears Headed for T-Mobile

RIM is reportedly getting ready to launch a new model in its popular Pearl series of consumer-oriented smartphones. The BlackBerry Pearl 9100, which will have much in common with its predecessors but with some updated features, is is on the way to T-Mobile.

Leaked images of this model show that, like the current versions, it will be a small device with a SureType keyboard, a design created by RIM in which each key handles two letters.

Updated Features
The Pearl 9100 will continue its creator's move away from trackballs in favor of trackpads. This will apparently be the latest RIM model to make this change, following on the heels of the Bold 9700 and Tour.

In addition, it will reportedly debut with Blackberry OS 5.0, the latest version of this operating system.

T-Mobile and More
New leaked images of this BlackBerry show that there will be a version with support for T-Mobile 3G network. This isn't surprising, as this carrier has been a strong supporter of the Pearl lie since its inception.

Previous reports have indicated that an AT&T version is in the offing as well.

Other features will allegedly include a Wi-Fi b/g/n, microSDHC memory card slot, as well as a camera of unknown resolution but with an LED flash.

Availability?
It is now yet known when the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 will be released.

Any details on cost have also not yet leaked out, but this model will likely follow its predecessors and carry an entry-level price.
