HTC Incredible Really Quite Credible

Some new images and details have come to light on an Android-powered smartphone supposedly heading for Verizon.

According to information that has leaked out, the HTC Incredible will launch running Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz processor, a high-end combination.

On top of this will be HTC Sense, this company's alternate user interface that enhances Google's standard UI.

It will use a tablet shape with a WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) touchscreen. It's not clear yet what the exact size for this will be: 3.5 inches or 3.7 inches. This may be an AM-OLED display.

Below this will be an optical touchpad.

On its back, the Incredible will reportedly have a camera with dual LED flashes.

Incredible = Bravo?
A document that leaked out of HTC earlier this year suggests that the Incredible is going to be a version of the HTC Bravo -- other evidence suggests that it will be the version for Verizon.

If these two are virtually identical, the Incredible will have a 3.7-inch, WVGA, AM-OLED touchscreen a 5 megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and a GPS receiver.

If these details sound familiar, it's because the Google Nexus One is also a version of the HTC Bravo. Of course, Google decided to pass on the HTC alternate user interface on its version, and it has a trackball instead of a trackpad.
