The Motorola Droid is one of the most popular Android OS devices available. This high-end smartphone normally sells for $200 with a two-year contract, but new Verizon customers can get it for a quarter of that.
Wireless carriers regularly offer special deals to new customers, hoping that discounts on phones will lure in additional subscribers. That's why the Droid is available for $50 to those who are willing to switch carriers.
This deal is being offered now on Dell's website, and requires a two-year service contract.
An Overview of the Motorola Droid
The Motorola Droid is this company's flagship model, and sports a large, high-resolution capacitive Touchscreen with haptic feedback and a landscape-oriented QWERTY keyboard.
The Droid has a suite of applications that can wirelessly synchronize with Google's services, including Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, and Maps, as well as Microsoft Exchange.
It comes with a 16 GB memory card, GPS receiver, and a 5 MPx camera.
Verizon Wireless is the exclusive U.S. provider of the Motorola Droid.
