A version of the LogMeIn remote access application is being developed for smartphones running Google's Android OS. This will allow those with an Android-based device to control their work or home PC from almost anywhere in the world.
This app will let users control a distant desktop computer as if they were sitting in front of it. It is going to let users interact with any program that's on their office computer or access a file that on their home desktop.
There are already versions of LogMeIn for Microsoft Windows Mobile and Apple iPhone OS, but this latest version will add millions of new potential users.
The Android OS version is currently in beta testing, but was on display at the CTIA tradeshow this week.
Availability
LogMeIn is not yet ready to say when the version of this app for Google's OS will be released.
The company also hasn't announced pricing, but it's quite possible the Android version will cost the same as the iPhone one: $29.99.
