The Apple iPad will debut on Saturday, April 3, but anyone who really wants one on that day should have ordered it already. Those who place a pre-order now won't receive a unit until mid-April.
Those who placed a pre-order for an iPad earlier this month, or who put in a reservation to pick one up in a store, will get it on launch day. New pre-orders arrive "by April 12", and Apple is also no longer taking reservations.
