Samsung and Sprint are reportedly working on a follow-up for the Android-based Samsung Moment, which debuted last fall.
According to an unconfirmed report, it will have a lot in common with its predecessor, but with an updated design and operating system.
Like the current model, the Moment2 will supposedly be a slider with a landscape-oriented sliding keyboard. A leaked image shows the upcoming version with more buttons on its front, though.
It will apparently still have the AMOLED display that is on the original Moment, but not a new Super AMOLED display from Samsung.
Android and More
The smartphone will reportedly debut with Android OS 2.1, which its predecessor still lacks.
On top of Google's standard user interface will supposedly be a new version of Samsung's TouchWIZ user interface. This news is a little surprising since the current version doesn't use TouchWIZ.
Availability
The source for this unconfirmed information was unable to give a release date or potential price. The leaked image leaves little room for doubt that the smartphone is headed for the same carrier as its predecessor; a Sprint logo is prominently displayed on the device's front.
