Rhapsody Streaming Music Player Now Comes in an Android Version

Android OS smartphone users who prefer streaming music over the Internet rather than storing it locally have a new option. Rhapsody has released a version of its service for Google's operating system.

Users of the app can explore and stream the company's entire catalog of more than 9.5 million songs over a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. They can assemble a personal library of their favorites or randomly select from genres.

For $10 a month, Rhapsody users get unlimited access to the service and for $15, the service can be used on three devices.  A 14-day free trial is available.

The version of the app that's in the Android Market is still listed as a beta, but it is available for anyone to download. Previously the software was part of a closed beta.
