One of the most eagerly awaited smartphones of the season is the HTC Incredible. The high-end Android device is reportedly going to debut near the end of April on Verizon, sporting a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen and 1 GHz processor, among other features.
Although Verizon has yet to announce this model, information leaking out of the carrier indicates that it's going to release the Incredible in the next few weeks.
According to an internal document from Best Buy, it is going to launch April 29. The chain is also apparently going to carry the Incredible in stores.
So far, no source has been able to reveal a potential price tag for the smartphone.
A Preliminary Overview of the HTC Incredible
According to information from HTC and Verizon, the Incredible is going to run Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz processor, but it may be downclocked to 768 MHz.
The model is going to apparently include HTC Sense, the company's alternate user interface that enhances Google's standard UI.
It is almost certainly a version of the HTC Bravo; other versions of the device include the Google Nexus One and the HTC Legend. If so, the smartphone is going to use a tablet shape with a 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) AMOLED touchscreen. Below it is going to be an optical touchpad.
The Incredible is expected to support Verizon's 3G mobile broadband network, and include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a GPS receiver.
Other features supposedly include 6 GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot and 512 MB of RAM. In addition, it's going to have an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flashes, and FM Tuner and a 1300 mAh battery.
