Currently there isn't an official Twitter app for the iPhone OS, but that's going to change soon. Rather than building its own, this company is going to buy one that's already available: Tweetie.
This app will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and made free (it's currently $2.99).
In addition, Loren Brichter, the developer of Tweetie, has been hired by Twitter and will continue his work on this software. For example, a version for the Apple iPad is in development.
More about Tweetie
Brichter's app supports all the standard features of the Twitter service: follow, unfollow, block, direct messages etc. It also lets users post photos and videos.
It can handle multiple accounts, and also has an offline mode, and it supports landscape mode.
Tweetie won the 2009 Apple Design Award.
