Slider phones like the Motorola Droid and Palm Pre present unique problems for case designers. OtterBox now offers cases that protect these models without interfering with their sliding keyboards.
Motorola Droid
The OtterBox Commuter Series Case offers three layers of protection. First is a self-adhering film that covers the screen to protect from scratches. Next is a shock-absorbent silicone that attaches to the back of the device to dissipate impact. Finally, a two-piece, custom-molded polycarbonate shell snaps around the front and back of the smartphone.
The case allows the touchscreen, camera, microphone and volume keys to be used. Silicone plugs provide access to the headphone jack and micro-USB port while keeping out dirt.
The Commuter Series Case for the Motorola Droid is available now on the OtterBox website for $34.95.
Palm Pre and Pre Plus
The OtterBox Tandem Series Case comes in two pieces, one shell that attachs to the front of the device and one to the back. Silicone along the edges absorbs shock and bump, while the polycarbonate shell offers protection from impact.
This case can be purchased from the OtterBox website for $29.95.
