Sprint's HTC Touch Pro2 Gets Significant Price Cut

Sprint has lowered the price for its version of the HTC Touch Pro2, bringing the cost in line with other carriers. The high-end Windows phone with a WVGA Touchscreen and sliding keyboard is now $200.

Sprint introduced the Touch Pro2 for $350 with two-year contract. Verizon launched it just a couple of days later at $200 with contract.

T-Mobile also released the model at $350 but later dropped it to $200, and AT&T's version, re-named the Tilt2, debuted at $300 but is now $200.

The high-end smartphone offers a 3.6-inch WVGA screen, sliding keyboard, mobile broadband, Wi-Fi and Worldphone capabilities.

It debuted with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, but an upgrade to 6.5 was released released this spring.

On top of the standard Microsoft user interface is the latest version of HTC's TouchFLO 3D UI, which has been designed to make the device easier to use with a fingertip, rather than a stylus.

Other features include a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, a GPS receiver, 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card slot and a 1500 mAh battery.
