Verizon's LG Fathom Windows Phone Might Debut Next Week

It's Official: Verizon Will Introduce the LG Fathom Windows Phone This Week

The LG Fathom has yet to be officially announced, but a new report says this Windows Mobile 6.5-based smartphone is going to become available in just under a week.

The Fathom is a business-oriented model, and it will go on sale first in Verizon's business channel on May 27, according to information leaking out of this wireless carrier. Consumers will supposedly be able to buy the device on June 3.

The price for the smartphone has not yet slipped out.

This will probably be one of the last devices released with Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, Microsoft has already unveiled Windows Phone 7, which will be an almost complete break from the earlier versions. It's possible that the Triumph will be upgradeable to the next version, but if so it will be the only one.

The LG Fathom (VS750) will supposedly have a 3.2-inch WVGA (800 x 480) resistive Touchscreen in front of its sliding keyboard.

It will support Verizon's voice and 3G network, and will also be able to connect to GSM voice and HSDPA high-speed data networks when roaming outside of the U.S..

This smartphone is also allegedly going to have Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth.

In addition, the LG Fathom's leaked feature list includes a 3.2 megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot.

Physically, it is supposed to be 4.5 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches (115 x 56 x 17 mm) and 5.36 oz (152 g).
