T-Mobile Brings HSPA+ Service To Parts of New England

T-Mobile USA has just begun offering 3.5G service in a number of cities in the Northeast. Its HSPA+ service  brings theoretical peak download speeds of 21 Mbps to the smartphones that support it.

The carrier is expanding its HSPA+ service in the New York City metropolitan area, including New Jersey and Long Island.

In addition, T-Mobile has begun offering 3.5G service in:

• Upstate New York: Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse
• Connecticut: Hartford, New Haven, Milford and Stamford
• Providence, R.I.

It was already available in Philadelphia, the Washington, D.C. suburbs, Memphis, Tenn., and Las Vegas.

T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network will expand into Boston and Washington, D.C. in the coming weeks.

Supporting Hardware
T-Mobile says that more than a dozen of its devices can take advantage of this faster network, including the  HTC HD2, the Motorola Cliq XT, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, and the webConnect Rocket Laptop Stick.

In addition, two smartphones set for release next month – the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide and the Garminfone – will be able to access this HSPA+ network.
