Verizon Might Release the BlackBerry Bold 9650 Worldphone Tomorrow

UPDATE (5/28/10): Verizon did not release the BlackBerry Bold 9650 on May 27 has had been rumored, but the carrier is nevertheless still expected to introduce this model in the near future.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 will apparently soon be available from Verizon Wireless. This model will be very similar to the BlackBerry Tour, but with Wi-Fi added. It will give users the ability to make calls in the U.S. and abroad.

Sprint has already released this model, and information leaking out of Verizon says this carrier's launch day is going to be tomorrow.

In addition, an unconfirmed report indicates that Verizon began training its sales staff on the Bold 9650 this week.

Overview of the BlackBerry Bold 9650
The 9650 has the typical BlackBerry tablet shape with a 2.4-inch 480 x 360 display above an optical trackpad and a small, but complete keyboard.

Verizon's version will support the carrier's voice and 3G data network, but will also be one of its few worldphones, since it will be able to make calls and connect to high-speed data networks outside of the U.S.

The model also offer Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

It runs BlackBerry OS 5 and include a suite of software for email, Web access, calendar and contacts, as well as business and entertainment applications and location-based services.

The 9650's 3.2 megapixel camera offers a flash, variable zoom, image stabilization, auto-focus and video recording.

It includes a microSD slot and is bundled with a 2 GB card, which can be easily removed and replaced with one that has up to 32 GB of capacity.

Other features include a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and a 1400 mAh battery. 

Overall, it is 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches and weighs 4.8 ounces.
