New Pictures of the Motorola Droid Shadow Emerge

In the past week, details have been leaking out about the Motorola Droid Shadow. The latest on this upcoming model is pair of images showing this upcoming Android OS smartphone that's supposedly coming to Verizon next month.

According to the source of these images, this model is going to debut with the new Android OS 2.2. Previous reports have indicated that it will launch with version 2.1 of Google's operating system, and an OS upgrade will be released later.

This source also says that the Droid Shadow won't run the MotoBlur user interface, something that is in contradiction with earlier reports.

Preliminary Overview of the  Motorola Droid Shadow
The smartphone will supposedly have a high-end feature set, starting with a 4.1-inch FWVGA (854×480) touchscreen -- a display larger than any current Verizon phone.

This will be set in a slim tablet shape without a physical keyboard.

The leaked specifications list includes a 720 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 processor, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video as well as an HDMI video-out port which will allegedly offer 1080p support.

It will also reportedly include 8 GB of internal storage and be bundled with an 8 GB microSD memory card.

All other specifications for the Droid Shadow remain unknown, but it's likely to include the features that are typical in other high-end Android OS models, such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

Coming in July?
Last week, Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha said that Verizon Wireless is going to introduce two of his company's Android OS-based smartphones in July. It's virtually certain one of these will be the highly-anticipated Droid Shadow.

The second model will apparently be the Motorola Droid 2, a similar device with a sliding keyboard.
