The BlackBerry Bold 9800 has yet to be announced, but details on this model have been leaking out for some time, showing that it will be the first BlackBerry with a sliding keyboard. The latest is a set of images clearly showing this upcoming smartphone from almost every angle.
While these show a great deal about the appearance of the Bold 9800, they don't reveal anything new about the specifications. Still, many of the details on this model have leaked out earlier.
Preliminary Overview of the Bold 9800
In addition to its portrait-oriented keyboard, the Bold 9800 will have a Touchscreen and a trackpad. Users will also have the option to enter text with an on-screen keyboard.
This model is expected to debut with BlackBerry OS 6.0, a new version of RIM's operating system that's scheduled to debut this summer. It will be noticeably enhanced with a redesigned home screen and a more advanced web browser, among other changes.
Aside from unconfirmed reports of a 5 megapixel camera, most other details of this device remain unknown.
Availability?
At this point, it is unknown when the BlackBerry Bold 9800 will launch, or what it will cost.
Still, RIM has announced that BlackBerry OS 6.0 will be released in the third quarter of the year, so this model won't be on the market before then.
One of the pictures that leaked out previously showed this model is headed for AT&T, but it could also be offered by other carriers as well.
