Last week, an unconfirmed report indicated that Sprint is prepping a version of the Samsung Galaxy S with a sliding keyboard and WiMAX. Now, more of the specifications of this smartphone have leaked out.
The pre-release version is running Android OS 2.1 on a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM, but this may be updated to Android OS 2.2 by the time the Galaxy S Pro is released. Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 user interface will be layered on top
It reportedly is going to have a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash and support for 720p video recording, as well as a front-facing VGA camera for video conferencing.
This upcoming Samsung model will supposedly include 8 GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD memory card slot.

Despite multiple leaks on this device, the size and resolution of the display has yet to be revealed. Its sister model, the Galaxy S, has a 4-inch, WVGA touchscreen, and the Galaxy Pro might have one too.
This will apparently be Sprint's second smartphone with WiMAX, giving it peak download speeds of up to 12 Mbps, and average download speeds of 2-4 Mbps in areas where this 4G standard is available.
In addition, this device will have Wi-Fi b/g/n, and it might be a worldphone, able to connect to GSM cellular-wireless networks outside of the U.S.
Additional Details on the Samsung Galaxy S Pro
One of the hallmarks of the Samsung Galaxy S is is Super AMOLED display, and Sprint's version of this model will allegedly have this as well.
But the Galaxy S Pro will have a feature not on the current one: a 5-row, landscape-oriented, sliding QWERTY keyboard.
All other details currently remain unknown.
There is also no word yet on when Sprint plans to introduce this Samsung smartphone, or what it will cost.
