After a week or so of being out of stock, Sprint recently got in a new shipment of the HTC EVO 4G... a shipment that sold out almost immediately. This high-end Android OS smartphone with WiMAX has been so popular that Sprint can't keep it on its shelves.
Customers have been drawn to the evo 4G's cutting-edge feature set, including a very large, high-resolution touchscreen, fast processor, and 4G cellular-wireless networking. It will soon also offer video chatting.
Those trying to put in an order today are greeted with the message, "This device is currently out-of-stock. Please select another device or sign up to be notified when it is available."
Sprint subscribers looking for other options run into a problem, though: none of this carrier's other models can come close in features. The evo 4G has a much larger screen that any other Sprint model, and is the only smartphone on the U.S. market with WiMAX.
