Information on the HTC Vision has leaked out before, but the first image of this upcoming smartphone has now appeared on the Web, along with some additional details. This model will supposedly be one of HTC's first Android OS models with a large QWERTY keyboard.
The image coming out of Europe shows that this will be a slider, with landscape-oriented keyboard that can be hidden behind its 3.7-inch, WVGA touchscreen. An optical touchpad is going to be set next to the screen.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Vision is going to run Google's Android OS 2.1 operating system on a 1 GHz processor.
Many details remain a mystery. It's not clear yet if this device will have an AMOLED display, for instance, and the leaked image doesn't show it running HTC Sense, this company's user interface that enhances Google's standard one. Most of HTC's other models with screens this size have had both these features.
All the other specifications are equally unknown, like storage capacity, wireless features, etc.
Availability?
None of the information on the HTC Vision that has leaked out of its creator so far has said anything about when this smartphone will be released, or in what geographical regions it will be available in.
Wherever it is released, it will likely attract attention -- HTC has been concentrating its Android OS efforts on making tablet-shaped smartphones for quite some time, and many have been impatiently waiting for this company to make one with a sliding keyboard.
