Samsung Intercept Set To Replace Sprint's Samsung Moment

Many details of the Samsung Intercept have leaked out ahead of any official announcement from Sprint. This Android OS smartphone is supposedly going to replace the Samsung Moment in this carrier's roster by offering a much better display.

The Intercept is reportedly going to have an 800 x 480 3.2 inch touchscreen, up from the 320 by 480 pixels (HVGA) display on the Moment.

Like the current model, the Intercept will supposedly be a slider with a landscape-oriented sliding keyboard. It will apparently have a few more buttons on its front, though.

The smartphone will reportedly debut with Google's Android OS 2.1, but its processor speed, RAM, and other related details remain unknown.

According to leaked information, the Intercept is going to include a 3.2 megapixel camera and 3.5 mm headset jack. The rest of its feature set has yet to be revealed.

The video leaves little room for doubt that Samsung Intercept is headed for the same carrier as its predecessor; a Sprint logo is prominently displayed on the device's front.

The source for this unconfirmed information was unable to give a release date, but other unconfirmed reports indicate the launch is scheduled for July 11. it's apparently close enough that the source was able to purchase the device in a Best Buy store on Saturday.

In addition, there was some good news for those interested in this model: the $100 price is unusually low for a phone with the Intercept's feature set.
