The retailer Best Buy has resumed taking pre-orders for the highly-anticipated Motorola Droid X, but warns customrs that orders placed now won't ship when Verizon launches this cutting-edge Android OS smartphone next week.
The Droid X has drawn a great deal of attention for its advanced feature set, including a very large display and fast processor.
Verizon gave Best Buy the exclusive rights to take pre-orders for this device. The retailer started to do so last month, but stopped after it went through all the units that will have available on launch day.
Best Buy isn't saying when units pre-ordered now will ship, only saying "It is expected that pre-orders placed during the second round will not be available until post launch."
Placing a pre-order reuires the customer to put down a $50 deposit which is turned into a $50 Best Buy gift card. This can be used to buy the Droid X or any other item from this retailer.
The second round of pre-orders will stop Saturday, July 10, and the Droid X will launch on July 15.
