An image of what's supposedly an upcoming Android OS smartphone has appeared on the Web. This shows that the T-Mobile myTouch 3G HD will have a tablet shape dominated by a large touchscreen.
With the exception of the myTouch 3G Slide, all of the devices in this series have had tablet shapes without a physical keyboard. The myTouch 3G HD will also apparently forgo a sliding keyboard.
Previous models in this series have been mid-range smartphones with relatively low-resolution displays, but the appearance and the name of the upcoming device seem to indicate that it will have a high-resolution screen.
The myTouch series models were designed and produced by HTC. This company has released a couple of smartphones before with "HD" in their names, and both of these have had WVGA touchscreens. It's possible this one will too
Below the display can be seen an optical trackpad and a set of buttons. One of the is the "Genius" button that appears on the myTouch 3G Slide --this launches voice recognition software that allows the user to control many of the standard functions with spoken commands.
Might Have HSPA+
T-Mobile has posted a teaser page for its first device with HSPA+, which it promises will be out "later this year". This has attracted interest among business users and consumers, as this service is fast enough to rival or surpass current 4G networks.
The teaser page has a rough outline of the upcoming model -- an outline that's a good fit for the myTouch 3G HD.
Pricing and Availability?
At this point, nothing else is known about the T-Mobile myTouch 3G HD.
The source for the leaked image didn't know or didn't reveal when this smartphone is going to be released, or what it will cost.
