Details and pictures of an upcoming but unannounced high-end smartphone from HTC have been appearing on the Web in the last few days. The latest leak is a video showing off the hardware features of this model.
This gives the world the best look yet at this device, which is apparently going to be an equivalent of the very high-end HTC EVO 4G for GSM-based carriers.
According to unconfirmed reports, the HTC Desire HD will be built around a 4.3-inch, WVGA (800 x 640) touchscreen.
It will supposedly run Google Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz processor.
Other Hardware Details
Much of what is known about this HTC smartphone is drawn for the images and video that have leaked out.
The Desire HD will clearly have a tablet shape. Unlike the HTC Desire that's available now in Europe, the upcoming model is apparently going to eschew physical buttons on the front in favor of touch-sensitive areas just below display. The trackpad is also being dropped.
Although this device will seemingly have much in common with the EVO 4G, this picture of the back shows that it won't have a kickstand.
According to information that leaked out of HTC earlier this summer, the second model in the Desire series is going to have 4 GB of internal storage along with a microSD memory card slot.
All the other specifications of this upcoming smartphone remain unknown.
Coming this Fall
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the HTC Desire HD is scheduled for release in October.
Where it will be available is an open question.
