Many Verizon Subscribers Qualify for Early Motorola Droid 2 Subsidy

Verizon is offering a special deal to its customers who want to buy a Motorola Droid 2: anyone who would be eligible for a discounted upgrade at any time before the end of this year can get their subsidy now.

Customers who haven't bought a subsidized phone in two years (24 months) qualify for discounted prices. But those who will qualify by Dec. 31 don't have to wait another few months to buy Verizon's latest smartphone, as this carrier is offering early access to this subsidy. 

Those who are switching to Verizon to get the Droid 2 can buy it for $200 too, as long as they are willing to sign up for a two-year service contract. Current Verizon customers who want this smartphone but don't qualify for the subsidy have to pay $600.

The same deal is available for those buying a Motorola Droid X.
