Samsung has promised to deal with a bug in its most recent Android OS smartphones. The problems the Samsung Captivate and Samsung Vibrant have with their GPS receivers will be fixed in September.
The company admitted earlier this month that the U.S. models in the Galaxy S series have problems getting a GPS fix. The issues are apparently straight-forward: in some situations, these devices are unable to determine their location.
Samsung issued an update on this issue via Twitter:
"Samsung is testing software to optimize GPS on Galaxy S phones. Look for updates on September."
AT&T's Captivate and T-Mobile's Vibrant are the two versions of the Galaxy S that have been released so far in the U.S., but Sprint and Verizon are prepping their own versions.
