BlackBerry Torch Available for $100 Off

AT&T's price for the newly-released BlackBerry Torch is $200 with contract, but it's available for much less than that at several online retailers.

The Torch is the first in RIM's popular line of smartphones to offer a Touchscreen and a sliding keyboard. It is also the first with BlackBerry OS 6.0.

It sells for $200 with a new or renewed two-year contract when purchased on AT&T's website, but other sources are offering it for well below that.

What's the Deal?
LetsTalk.com has the best deal for those who are already AT&T subscribers: this online phone store is selling the BlackBerry Torch for $100 with a renewed two-year contract.

Another retailer with a deal for current AT&T customers is Wirefly, who is asking $150 with a contract renewal.

Those who are switching to AT&T to get the Torch can get a deal, too: Amazon.com is charging $100 with a two-year contract for it. But again, this is only available to new AT&T customers.

BlackBerry Torch Overview
This new device breaks new ground in a couple of ways: it's the first in RIM's popular line of smartphones to offer a touchscreen and a sliding keyboard. It is also the first with BlackBerry OS 6.0.

The design for the Torch 9800 starts with a 3.2-inch 360x480 capacitive touchscreen. Behind this sits a portrait-oriented sliding keyboard with 35 keys. 

Naturally, this model support AT&T's voice and 3G network, and it also includes Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

It includes 4 GB of built-in storage plus  a 4 GB microSD memory card. This smartphone also has a 5 megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus, image stabilization, and geo-tagging, and it offers a 1300 mAhr battery and a 3.5 mm headset jack.

The Torch is the debut of BlackBerry OS 6.0, which includes really significant changes, including an updated user interface that's been designed for Touchscreen devices and a much enhanced web browser.
