There has been a good deal of frustration with Verizon surrounding the fact that most major carriers are, or are going to, support the Treo 600. To encourage Verizon to change their behind the curve ways, there's a petition with 1582 names begging for the Treo. Finally, Verizon has responded with a somewhat favorable tone.
Now don't start holding your breath, their response is such that it's not even close to a 100% go for the Treo 600, but it is more than Verizon has said on the topic to date:
Thank you for your message to [name removed] (attached below). We appreciate your strong interest in obtaining a Treo 600 for use on our national network.
We are currently working with Handspring and are considering adding the Treo 600 to our lineup. Before bringing any device to market, it must be integrated with the Verizon Wireless product suite and passed through rigorous network quality testing.
We will be glad to notify you directly regarding our launch plans for the Treo 600 once this process has been completed.
Thank you again for your loyalty to Verizon Wireless.
