Official Images of the T-Mobile G2 Leak Out

The T-Mobile G2 has been pre-announced, but few details of this model have been revealed. Nevertheless, quite a bit of information has come out through unofficial means. This now includes several pictures off T-Mobile's own servers.

These images confirm earlier reports that the G2 is going to be a slider, with a 3.7-inch, high-resolution display and a landscape-oriented keyboard.

According to an official announcement that went out earlier this month, the G2 will be the follow-up to the original device running Google's mobile operating system. It's support for HSPA+  will mean it will will be able to wirelessly transfer data fast enough to rival or surpass current 4G networks.

Several leaked images show that this smartphone will be a slider, with landscape-oriented keyboard that can be hidden behind its 3.7-inch, WVGA touchscreen. An optical touchpad is going to be set next to the screen.

It's not clear yet if this device will have an AMOLED display, but most of HTC's other models with screens this size have one

The G2 is reportedly going to run Google's Android OS 2.1 operating system on a 1 GHz processor.

Like its predecessor, the T-Mobile G1, this model will be produced by HTC, but The official images of it that leaked out do not show it running HTC Sense, this company's user interface that enhances Google's standard one.

All the other G2 specifications are equally unknown, like storage capacity, camera resolution, etc.

Pricing & Availability
According to several unconfirmed reports, the T-Mobile G2 will launch on Sept. 29.

The price for this high-end Android OS model is not yet known, but it is likely to be close to $200 with a two-year contract.
