Android OS-based HTC Lexikon Appears in a Leaked Image

A rendering has leaked out that shows the HTC Lexikon, a high-end smartphone reportedly heading for Verizon Wireless. This Android OS 2.2 model will apparently be a slider with much in common with the upcoming HTC Desire Z and T-Mobile G2.

The image of the Lexikon shows its front, but a partial specifications list that leaked out previously indicates that this device will have a sliding keyboard, which is not shown.

The 3.8-inch WVGA (800 x 480) Touchscreen is clearly shown, however, as well as the standard set of control buttons. Like many HTC models, this one will apparently eschew a D-pad. 

On the Inside
According to the leaked specifications list, the Lexikon will run Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) on an 800 MHz processor, and sport 512 MB of RAM, according to the leaked description. HTC Sense 1.6 will overlay the standard user interface.

It will also allegedly include a 5 megapixel camera and 4 GB of internal storage.

A Verizon logo on the rendering makes it clear which carrier is going to be offering this model, but exactly what the wireless features will be is not yet known.

Also unknown is when the HTC Lexikon is going to be released, and at what price.

When it is launched by Verizon, this phone is likely to get a name change so that it part of the Droid series.
