T-Mobile G2 Can Be Pre-ordered at Well Below the Official Price

T-Mobile began now taking pre-orders for the T-Mobile G2 late last week. The official price is $200 with contract, but the online retailer Wirefly is beating that price by $50 for orders placed by new T-Mobile subscribers.

This Android OS smartphone is going to be a slider with a large touchscreen, fast processor, and other high-end features.

T-Mobile is only taking pre-orders for the G2 from its current customers, but Wirefly will let those who are willing to switch to T-Mobile put in a pre-order, and is charging $150 with  a two-year contract.

This model is going to launch on October 6.

T-Mobile G2 Overview
T-Mobile's high-end smartphone is going to be a slider with a 3.7-inch, WVGA touchscreen, an optical touchpad, and landscape-oriented keyboard.

It will run Android OS 2.2 on an 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This means it will have the current version of Google's mobile operating system, but a slower processor than most other high-end models.

Because the T-Mobile G2 is going to run the latest version of Google's operating system, it will have a very capable web browser with support for Adobe Flash. It will also include email software, music and video player, and support for Exchange ActiveSync.

This smartphone is going to have 4 GB of internal storage, plus it will be bundled with an 8 GB microSD memory card. Users will have the option to purchase (separately) additional memory cards, up to 32 GB in capacity.

The G2 will support T-Mobile HSPA+ service, which means it will will be able to wirelessly transfer data fast enough to rival or surpass current 4G networks. It will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.

It will have a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and auto-focus. In addition to still images, this camera will support 720p video recording.
