Since it was released in the spring, the Android OS version of Skype has only been available for Verizon Wireless customers. A version for far more devices running Google's operating system has now been released.
The Skype app let users make unlimited calls to other Skype users around the world over a data connection. In the U.S., this app works only over Wi-Fi connections.
Users can also make calls to regular phones for a fee.
This app also allow users to exchange instant messages with other Skype users.
Pricing and Availability
The Skype app is free, and is available now in the on-device Android Market.
It runs on smartphones running Android OS 2.1 and above.
