AT&T has just announced plans to introduce three additional smartphones running Google's Android OS by the end of this year. The Motorola Flipout, Flipside, and Bravo will have much in common, but will offer a range of designs.
Motorola has been experimenting with new form-factors, and in these three models there's a fairly standard tablet and a slider, but one is more unusual.
All of these will launch with Android OS 2.1 and use MotoBlur, Motorola's software that brings together messages from a range of social-networking services like Facebook and Twitter, text messages, as well as consumer and business email accounts, into a universal inbox.
The sport features like 3G, and Wi-Fi, as well as a suite of communication and entertainment software.
Overview of the Motorola Bravo
The Bravo will have a tablet shape with a 3.7-inch, WVGA touchscreen, giving potential customers the large display that many are looking for.
This smartphone will run Google's operating system on a 800 MHz processor, and is going to include a 3-megapixel camera.
AT&T says that the Motorola Bravo will sell for $130 with a two-year voice and data service agreement. It is gong to be on the market some time before the holiday shopping season.
Overview of the Motorola Flipside
The Flipside is going to be a slider a slide-out, landscape-oriented QWERTY keyboard. Next to the 3.1-inch, HVGA Touchscreen will be an unusually large trackpad.
Like the Bravo, AT&T is only saying the Flipside will be out in time for the holiday shopping season. It will sell for $100 with a two-year contract.
Overview of the Motorola Flipout
The Flipout will have an 2.8-inch Touchscreen that can rotate around to expose a small keyboard and D-pad.
It is going to have a 700 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM. This phone is also going to include HSPA 3G, a GPS receiver and a 3.1 megapixel camera.
The Motorola Flipout has been seen before, and previous unconfirmed reports have said that it is heading for AT&T. This carrier confirmed it today. It is going to be available for $80 with a two-year contract beginning October 17.
