BlackBerry Style 9670 Clamshell Phone Coming To Sprint in Two Weeks

The BlackBerry Style will be RIM's first smartphone with a clamshell design and a QWERTY keyboard. This model, which will run BlackBerry OS 6.0, is going to debut exclusively from Sprint at the end of this month. 

RIM's first BlackBerry with a clamshell design was the Pearl Flip, but this model has a SureType keyboard. The Style will have a full QWERTY keyboard.

It will also have a 2.7-inch, QVGA (360 × 480) pixel internal display as well as a 2-inch, QVGA external screen. It will include an optical trackpad, as neither of its displays will be a touchscreen.

This device is going to debut running BlackBerry OS 6.0, the latest version of RIM's operating system. This has been noticeably enhanced with a redesigned home screen and a more advanced web browser, among other changes.

Like its predecessors, it will come with a suite of communication, social networking, and entertainment software, including the DataViz Documents To Go suite of Office apps.

In addition to support for Sprint's CDMA and 3G (EV-DO Rev. A) networks, the Style 9670 will offer Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS.

This BlackBerry is going to come with a microSD memory card slot and an 8 GB card.

Other items on the feature list include a 5 megapixel camera as well as a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Pricing & Availability
The BlackBerry Style 9670 is going to launch in the U.S. from Sprint on October 31.

This smartphone will sell for $100 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a two-year contract.

According to unconfirmed reports, Verizon is also going to release the BlackBerry 9670 at some point.
