AT&T has begun offering the Motorola Flipout, a consumer-oriented Android OS smartphone with an innovative design.
Phones with screens that move asideto reveal a keyboardaren't unusual, but the Flipout's 2.8-inch, QVGA (320 x 240) display is different in that pivots on an axis. This gives users access toa small keyboard and D-pad.
Itruns Android OS 2.1 on a700 MHz processor,and uses MotoBlur, Motorola's software that brings together messages from a range of social-networking services like Facebook and Twitter, text messages, as well as consumer and business email accounts, into a universal inbox.
Like all Android OS-based smartphones,the Flipoutcomes with a suite of software, inlckind a very capable web browser, email app, music and video player, and much more.
This device includes512 MB of RAM, and it also has a microSD memory card slot and is bundled with a 2 GB card.
Itis a GSM phone with HSPA 3G, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.
Motorola has includeda 3.1 megapixel camera and a 1170 mAh battery

The Motorola Flipout is available now for $80 with a two-year contract.
It can be purchased on AT&T's website.
This is one of a trio of Android OS smartphones from Motorola that AT&T is going to release this quarter. The other two -- the Motorola Flipside and Bravo -- will debut in the coming weeks.
